COP ARRESTED ACCUSED CONNECTED TO VIOLENCE IN CONTAINMENT ZONE IN ROURKELA

ROURKELA: Rourkela police finally arrested 31 culprits who were part of that mass violence displayed on 26th April in Rourkela containment zone. To lift the containment period in Anand Bahwan Lane and Mahatab road area a group of protesters had adopted violence for the protest and had broken the barricades done by police to contain the area from infection to spread.
Many conspirators were objecting this move from the beginning of this decision was taken and had been objecting for contract tracing. The day of the incident, few protestors came out to the street and started pelting stones and had broken the barricade and set on fire many to block the road. Because of this violence many police staffs and media person were injured and the entire area had become a war zone.
Police has filed a case against this and the case no was-153. One organization has registered complaint in various police stations to take action on these culprits and pressure was mounting on police for some action. Finally police have arrested 31 members who were part of this violence after referring to vdo captured by difference means. They were then taken to Plantsite police station in the evening and through vdo conferencing they were made present in front of magistrate and the bail plea was dismissed. Consequently they were sent to jail, briefed by DIG, Western range, Kabita Jalan in presence of K Shiva Subramani in a press conference in the police head quarter in Rourkela. All culprits are charged with different sections and they are 17/ 148/ 152/ 186/ 332/ 353/336/ 427/ 435/ 395/ 307/ 294/ 506/ 149 and 120 (B) of IPC. All of them were sent to the court at 9 am and there they are kept in special quarantine cell.
