Accused Arrested in Gold Bangles Theft Case at Bada Bazar

Berhampur,(31/07/26):Bada Bazar Police Station has arrested K Sabrish (34), son of K Suresh of Patra Sahi, near Manglabarampeta Street, Berhampur, in Case No. 563 dated 29.07.2026 under Sections 331(3)/305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

On 28.07.2026 at about 1:00 PM, the accused, a friend of the complainant’s husband, entered the house of T Bhavapreity (25) at Kanjibari Sahi while she was feeding her child. He went upstairs, locked himself in the bedroom, stole four gold bangles weighing about 70 grams from the wardrobe, and fled. The complainant discovered the theft the next day and lodged a report.

During investigation, the accused confessed to the theft and to selling the bangles to goldsmith A Chiranjivi Achary, who melted them. Police recovered cash  Rs.4,50,000.

A Suzuki Avenis scooty (OD 07 AQ 1982) and another OPPO mobile phone used in the crime were seized from the accused. 

K Sabrish was arrested on 31.07.2026 and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court.
