Chatrapur,(22/06/26): Acting on the directions of Ganjam Superintendent of Police Harish Bisi  a special team comprising officers from Kabisuryanagar and Polasara police stations swung into swift action. The team not only nabbed the culprit.

Addressing to media SP,Ganjam said ,that  Santosh Mahapatra and Manoranjan Gouda, who knew the victim through prior relations, hatched the plan and roped in other accomplices. Acting on a reliable tip-off, the police conducted a targeted raid in the jungle area near Kankana Dei Mandir and arrested seven accused:

Huge Recovery

From the possession of the accused, police seized looted silver ornaments, Rs.12,500 in cash, mobile phones, two motorcycles, and a country-made pistol along with three live rounds. Jitendra Khatei confessed to using the firearm during the robbery and led police to the recovery of the pistol and ammunition.

Two other accused  Hitesh Swain and Sweta Khatei  are still absconding. Police have intensified efforts to nab them. All seven arrested accused have been produced before the court.

With the arrest the police team also recovered the looted items, cash, and the weapon used in the crime.

A group of miscreants with arms stormed the Icon Farm House of Rajanikant Mishra at Gokulpalli on June 19 night. The accused allegedly threatened family members at gunpoint, tied them up and decamped with around 15 tolas of gold ornaments, Rs 12,000 in cash and two mobile phones, police said.
