Jindal Foundation Celebrates Raja with Community at Angul

17th June, Angul: Jindal Foundation, the social arm of Jindal Steel, celebrated the vibrant Raja Festival with great enthusiasm at Jan-Jeevika Kendra (JJK) and Jamunali Village, bringing together more than 1,000 women and girls from local villages. The event celebrated Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, the spirit of womanhood, and the fertility of Mother Earth, while fostering unity, empowerment, and community pride.

Women and girls of all ages participated in colourful traditional attire and festive jewellery. The celebrations featured the traditional delicacy PodaPitha, beautifully decorated Raja swings, and a joyful festive atmosphere. Cultural and recreational competitions such as Raja Paan Making, Musical Chair, Puchi Dance, and Solo Dance added excitement and encouraged active community participation.

The programme was graced by Swami SatyabinduSaraswati; Mrs. Mini Nair and Mrs. Anita Mittal from Jindal MahilaSamiti (JMS); Mrs.ShilaPradhan, Sarpanch of Jamunali Gram Panchayat; Mr.DhurbaCharanDehury, President, Kuio; Mr. P.K. Panda, EVP – Liaison & PR; Mr. Rishi Pathania, Head – CSR, Jindal Steel; Mrs.SeemaVerma, Nutritionist, OHC; Mrs.Sasmita Rani Das, AGM, Safety Department; Mrs. Anita Mohanty, Special Guest; and employees from various departments of Jindal Steel.

Welcoming the gathering, Mrs.ShilaPradhan appreciated Jindal Foundation’s efforts in preserving local traditions and supporting rural development through livelihood initiatives that have strengthened the socio-economic status of women.

Mr.Jayanta Kumar Mohanty, General Manager and Head of CSR, Angul, thanked the Gram Panchayat representatives and community members for their support.

The celebrations concluded with prize distribution ceremonies and community lunches at both locations, leaving participants with cherished memories and a stronger sense of belonging.
