L&T’s Commitment to Social Responsibility: Mega Blood Donation and Eye Screening Camp Held at Balamukuli, 54 Units of Blood Collected

JAJPUR : Part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, L&T organized a mega blood donation camp and eye screening camp at its regional office premises in Balamukuli village under Binjharpur Block of Jajpur district. The service-oriented program witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents.

A team from the District Health Office, including Blood Bank Doctor Dr. Anuradha Sharma, ADMO Hrushikesh Jena, and Nursing Officer Biswa Ranjan Ojha, supervised the blood donation camp and collected a total of 54 units of blood from donors. The enthusiasm and social awareness displayed by the youth participants were highly commendable.

Similarly, the eye screening camp was conducted in the presence of Karnata Kishore Jena, State Director of Bhumika Organization;

Bhaktabatsala Mohanty, Advisor; Biswajit Das, Manager of the Jajpur Branch; Debendra Sethi, Group Health Manager of Jarka Bhumika Hospital; Aptam Jena; Vision Technicians Dona Sarkar and Rina Rani Bhanja; Senior Health Workers Jyoti Sahu and Sangeeta Jena; and Health Assistant Sachin Hembram, who jointly managed the camp.

A total of 77 senior citizens from various villages of Binjharpur Block underwent eye and vision examinations. Following the screening, nine cataract patients were identified and selected for free surgical treatment. The initiative is expected to benefit many elderly citizens in the region.

Officials from L&T’s Large Lift Irrigation Project, including Project Manager Shiva Prasad Satpathy, Administrative Manager Tapas Panda, Safety Officer Rahul Singh, and Store Manager Jitendra Patra, were present and ensured the smooth conduct of both the blood donation and eye screening camps.

It is noteworthy that through such initiatives, L&T continues to demonstrate its commitment to social welfare by organizing various public-benefit programs, including tree plantation drives, distribution of educational materials, blood donation camps, and eye screening camps, reaffirming its dedication to community service and social development.
