Clean Village, Safe Climate: Awareness Message by Sarpanch  at Singhpur Gram Sabha

Jajpur,June 5, 2026;A special Gram Sabha was held today at the meeting hall of the Singhpur Gram Panchayat Office under Binjharpur Block in Jajpur district.

The meeting, chaired by the young Sarpanch, , focused on the significance of World Environment Day, environmental cleanliness, and climate protection..

 Addressing the gathering, Mr. Khilar stated, “A clean village is the foundation of a healthy society and a safe climate. Environmental protection is not only the responsibility of the government but also the moral duty of every citizen. If we reduce the use of plastic and polythene and adopt eco-friendly practices from today, we can build a greener and safer planet for future generations.”

He also raised awareness about the harmful effects of polythene usage and advised people not to dispose of plastic waste indiscriminately. Instead, he urged residents to collect and manage polythene waste properly at designated locations. He further emphasized the importance of tree plantation, water conservation, and collective efforts to protect the environment.

Among those present at the meeting were PEO Bishnu Charan Samal, Nyaya Sarpanch Ranjita Barik, Kahna Rout, Debashish Samal, Ajay Kumar Mallick, MBK Shasmita Nayak, Lomamudra Jena, Akankshya  Barik, and others.

The participants collectively pledged to work towards keeping the village clean, green, and environmentally friendly. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Malay Thatoi.
