A release reveal, On 16.05.2026 evening, acting on reliable information, SI D.R. Pradhan a competent SI here in city for last many years along with staff conducted a raid near Ankuli Over Bridge, Panda Colony, Berhampur. On seeing the police party, several persons fled from the spot, but accused Ranjan Sahu (29) of Shiva Shakti Nagar 8th Lane, Lanjipalli, Berhampur was apprehended.
During search, police have seized from his possession
1. One iPhone 16 Plus mobile handset
2. One VIVO T4 Lite 5G mobile handset
3. Cash amounting to Rs. 66,000/-
4. One KIA Seltos car bearing Registration No. OD-07-BA-9696
Verification of the seized mobiles and bank transactions revealed that the accused was actively involved in organized online betting through websites/apps namely SKYEXCHANGE and BET365 and had handled suspicious financial transactions amounting to several lakhs of rupees. The accused failed to give any satisfactory explanation regarding the seized cash and articles.
The accused *Ranjan Sahu* was arrested on 16.05.2026 at 11:45 PM and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court. Further investigation is in progress.
