Drive on Nishamukta Odisha; Berhampur Gosaninuagaon Police Seized 6.69 grams Brown Sugar One Arrested under NDPS

Berhampur,(1/05/26):In a proactive anti-narcotics operation under the Nisha Mukth Odisha campaign, Gosaninuagaon Police have registered Case No. 166 dated 11.05.2026 under Sections 21(b)/29(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Acting on reliable source information regarding the sale and consumption of contraband brown sugar near Haladia Padar bypass service road, Berhampur, SI Gourab Ranjan Das along with police staff conducted evening patrolling on 10.05.2026 at around 8:00 PM.
During the operation, the team successfully traced and intercepted the suspect near the service road. From the conscious and exclusive possession of the accused Santosh Patro (36 years), S/o Subash Patro, resident of Sastrinagar, Haridakhandi, PS Badabazar, Dist-Ganjam, the following items were seized in the presence of independent witnesses and an Executive Magistrate
– One zip-seal packet containing contraband brown sugar weighing 6.69 grams
– One Vivo mobile phone
– One Samsung mobile phone
– One black polythene bag
The accused was arrested today , on 11.05.2026 and was forwarded to the Hon’ble Court on the same day.
