New Delhi,( 04/0/26):Clad in a traditional Bengali dhoti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed jubilant BJP workers at the party’s Delhi headquarters, declaring that the lotus had bloomed “from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar” as the BJP swept West Bengal and retained Assam for a third consecutive term.

“From Gangotri to Gangasagar, the lotus has bloomed everywhere, in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and now West Bengal. Today, in states along the banks of the Ganga, there are BJP-NDA governments,” Modi said, drawing a symbolic arc from Uttarakhand, where the river originates, to Ganga Sagar in Bengal, where it meets the Bay of Bengal.

Switching briefly to Bengali, Modi declared: “Bangla e poriborton hoygeche”, change has arrived in Bengal.

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, however, disputed the result. “It is loot, loot, loot. We will bounce back,” she said, calling the BJP’s win an “immoral victory.”

Modi struck a conciliatory note on governance, saying the focus would be on “badlav” (change), not “badla” (revenge).

He promised that Ayushman Bharat Yojana would receive Cabinet approval in the first meeting and pledged security for women, employment for youth and the “strictest action” against infiltrators.
