The Fire Service Day ceremony organized by CISF Unit, NTPC Kaniha

Talcher,Kanhia,(14/04/26):The Fire Service Week is being observed from 14.04.2026 to 20.04.2026. 

The ceremony was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Head of Project and Executive Director, NTPC Kaniha, Shri. K. Narasimha Reddy.

 Among those present were General Manager(O&M), Shri. Sumit Kumar Kundu; Addl.General Manager Shri. Navneet Kumar (HOHR); Shri. A. K. Behera; Shri. Hari Chand; Shri. S. Rao; other department heads; the Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya; senior officers and employees; as well as CISF Inspector Shri. Sunil Kumar, Ms. Jhuma Dhibar, Ms. Sunita Basu, and other officers and personnel. Assistant Commandant Shri. Omprakash Pal welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the significance of observing Fire Service Day and Week.

 He also outlined the various activities planned during the observance period. 

The Chief Guest and other dignitaries paid homage to the fire service personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty by offering floral tributes at the martyrs’ memorial pillar.

A two-minute silence was observed in their memory. The General Manager (O&M) administered a pledge to all present, emphasizing the importance of fire safety awareness and vigilance. On the occasion, a booklet and pamphlet on fire prevention and safety were also released by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized the growing incidence of fire-related accidents and urged all to remain aware and prepared for fire emergencies.

 He also commended the dedication and bravery of CISF personnel. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Assistant Commandant Shri. Premchand Sharma.

 The Chief Guest also flagged off a fire crew with a fire tender for a morning awareness procession towards Kaniha and the township.
