4 arrested for ‘Violent & physically assult ;due to  enmity between families

Berhampur,(06/04/26):Four youths were arrested for after allegedly attacking by his neighbours due to prior enmity between their families.

Berhampur town police in receipt of a report from Mochi Sahi under Berhampur Town Police Station limits in Ganjam district. Police have arrested four individuals in connection with a violent assault case reported

Based on the strong report from a complainant, K. Babula aged about 36 yrs., Babu, alleged that he was attacked by his neighbours due to prior enmity between their families.

According to the complaint, the incident took place  on April 3, 2026, at around 8:30 PM, when the accused persons—identified as P. Manoj Kumar (21), S. Ajay Kumar (25), S. Akash (20), and M. Bhardwaj (21)—allegedly came to the complainant’s street, abused him in obscene language, and physically assaulted him.

The attack was reportedly carried out with an intention to cause fatal harm, resulting in bleeding injuries to the complainant’s head and face.

Acting on the complaint, Berhampur Town Police registered a case and initiated an investigation. Subsequently, on April 6, 2026, at about 3:30 PM, a police team conducted a raid at the residences of the accused persons and successfully apprehended all four individuals involved in the incident.

The accused have been booked under Sections 126(2), 115(2), 351(2), 109(1), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are being forwarded to the court. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
