Rayagada, April 3: Amid ongoing discussions over railway projects and restructuring in Odisha, reliable sources have clarified several key aspects, highlighting major developmental gains while cautioning the public against misleading information.

As per reliable inputs, there is no diversion of railway tracks from Odisha to any other state. The existing railway infrastructure within the state remains intact, dismissing rumors suggesting otherwise.

Odisha has witnessed a massive surge in railway investment, with more than 93,000 crores allocated for various development projects. The Railway Budget allocation has also increased significantly, exceeding 10,000 crore annually for the past three years. This marks a nearly 13-fold rise compared to the 2009–2014 period, indicating a strong push for infrastructure growth in the state.

In a major development, the Rayagada Railway Division has been sanctioned and operations are expected to commence shortly. This is anticipated to improve regional connectivity and administrative efficiency in southern Odisha.

Reliable sources further stated that the Kothavalasa–Kirandul (KK) line—one of the highest revenue-generating railway routes, covering parts of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh—will be included under the Rayagada Division. This ensures that there will be no loss of revenue for East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar.

Additionally, it has been clarified that the Palasa–Ichchapuram section does not have any major originating freight revenue stations. Hence, any administrative adjustments related to this section will not impact the revenue of East Coast Railway.

Sources expressed concern that some sections of people are being misguided by incorrect or incomplete information. They urged the public to verify facts and not fall prey to rumors.

Overall, these developments highlight a positive trajectory for railway infrastructure in Odisha, reinforcing the state’s growing importance in the national rail network while ensuring that its interests remain fully protected.
