NTPC Talcher Kaniha Celebrates Utkal Diwas

Talcher,Kanhia:NTPC Talcher Kaniha celebrated Utkal Diwas on 1 April 2026 to commemorate the foundation day of Odisha. The event was graced by Shri K. N. Reddy, Executive Director (Talcher Kaniha).

The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a live performance of the state anthem, “Bandhe Utkal Janani.” During the event, the Chief Speaker highlighted the significance of Odisha Diwas and its historical importance.

The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural program showcasing Odisha’s rich heritage through various dance forms such as Odissi, Sambalpuri, and contemporary performances.

The event was attended by senior executives of NTPC Talcher Kaniha, the Chief Speaker, DC (CISF), members of Tanvi Sangam, union and association representatives, and residents of the Kaniha township.

Utkal Diwas was a week-long event wherein NTPC Talcher Kaniha organized a series of competitions to promote local culture. These included traditional art forms like Jhoti Chitha, a Pitha (traditional delicacy) competition, as well as unique cultural expressions such as Shankha blowing and Hulahuli, aimed at creating awareness and celebrating Odisha’s rich cultural heritage.
