Rayagada’s local web news channel Tv5 Odia’s third anniversary celebrated with great pomp & ceremony

Rayagada, March 18: This is the digital era where medium like fax, teleprinter, telegram, news print have become almost redundant. Web, u-tube and other social media like facebook, whatsapp, zoho, instagram, linkedin, etc have taken the centre stage.
Many prominent print media like utkal deepika, prajantra, dinalipi, niankhunta have gone to oblivion. Emergence of local web channels depicting fast, quality news has been the need of the hour. With this in mind Tv5 Odia, a local u-tube channel emerged in a non-descript tribal dominated district like Rayagada.
The third anniversary of Tv5 Odia Web News Channel was celebrated with great fervour at the local Biju Patnaik Kalyan Mandap. The event was presided over by the founder and editor-in-chief of Tv5 Odia, Dayanand Khadanga, with Rayagada Sub-Collector Ramesh Kumar Jena as the chief guest, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yala Venketswar Rao (Konda Babu), Utkal Alumina International Limited General Manager Patrambar Behera, senior journalist Badal kumar Tah, Centurion University Director Rajesh Kumar Padhi and senior lawyer and legal advisor of Tv5 Odia, Pradeep Dash were present as the guests of honour.
At the beginning of the function, all the guests offered prayers to Lord Sri Jagannath. Floral wreaths were offered to the deity.
After this, state patriotic song Vande Utkal Janani was sung followed by Odishi dance by kids and adolescent girls artistes.
On this occasion, Tv5 Odia’s Editor-in-Chief, Dayanand Khadanga, in his opening speech, gave a special account of why and with what purpose this channel was formed and how it has been able to sustain this channel despite obstacles and gain the support of all sections of the public for subscribing the channel over the long three-year journey.
He also thanked and expressed his gratitude to the public for accepting all the news broadcast by this channel with interest. He expressed his team’s vision to reach every nook and corner of Odisha in the coming days and sought everyone’s cooperation.
All the guests invited on this occasion spoke about how Tv5 Odia News Channel has passed this journey with ups and down though many eminent channels have either perished or at the juncture of hearing the death bell.
They opined about the quality of the news being presented. They also suggested that this channel should bring to the public attention the issues of neglected and marginalized people from every corner of the district and the state, corruption and the problems being faced by common people, and wished the success of Tv5 Odia News Channel. After the speeches by the coveted guests, Bharat Natyam and Adivasi Dhemsa dance were performed by child girl artistes, who were later joined by all the guests on the stage, which created a positive vibe and conducive atmosphere.
Tv5 Odia’s prominent subscribers namely Anant Padhi, Kasturi Sahu, Sramita Padhi, Adar Dalai, Hrishikesh Kuldeep and Gopinath Gowda were felicitated with Tv5 Odia Awards by the guests with bouquets, rosaries, shawls and mementos. Along with this, two schools Gayatri Model Public School and M. E. S. Education School were honored with Tv5 Odia Awards. Tv5 Odia News Anchor Geeta Devi and Dance Choreographer Pinky Rath were honored with Tv5 Odia Awards. The event was moderated by the announcer Bidisha Satapathy. Tv5 Odia News Channel’s Co-Editor Manoj Kumar Sahu, journalists Saroj Kumar Sahu, Girishakhar Rath, Deepak Panda, Bibhu Satapathy, Harinarayan Das, Rohit Jena contributed to the prime management of the whole event.
