CONCLUSION OF NATIONAL SAFETY WEEK 2026 AT NTPC TALCHER THERMAL

TALCHER :The Closing Ceremony of National Safety Day and Safety Week 2026, observed from 4 March to 11 March 2026, was successfully organised at NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Plant (TTPP) on Wednesday.

The event saw active participation from employees, contract workers, students and family members, reinforcing the organisation’s continued commitment to promoting a strong culture of safety.

The programme was graced by Executive Director and Head of Project Shri Vijay Chand, General Manager (Projects), NTPC Shri Praveer Kumar, Project Director and General Manager, BHEL Shri B. Majhi, Deputy Commandant, CISF Shri Rajesh Dayal, along with Heads of Departments and other officials.

The ceremony began with the welcome of dignitaries and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Students of Bal Bhawan presented a Vishnu Vandana dance performance, while contract workers staged a safety skit highlighting the importance of safe practices in daily work.

Addressing the gathering, ED and HOP Shri Vijay Chand emphasised that safety is not confined to a week-long observance but must remain a continuous commitment guiding actions at the workplace, at home and in the community. Shri B. Majhi, Project Director and GM (BHEL), also shared his views on teamwork and collective responsibility in maintaining a safe work environment.

As part of the celebrations, prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions organised during the Safety Week. Drawing competitions were also conducted in three government schools to spread awareness about safety among young students.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Head of Safety Department Shri Sanjay Kumar Gupta, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants and organisers for their support in making the celebration successful.
