Chatrapur,( 20/02/26):A small farmer from coastal Ganjam once said, “We don’t need charity, we need opportunities and guidance.” This reflects the dreams of many farmers, fishers, and women in the district. To support these aspirations, Voluntary Integration for Education and Welfare of Society (VIEWS) organized the Ganjam Livelihood Conclave 2026 on 20th February at Rushikulya Conference Hall, DRDA, Chhatrapur.

The Conclave brought together government officials, CSR partners, civil society, progressive farmers, fisher groups, and women SHG leaders to promote climate-resilient and sustainable livelihoods. The program began with a welcome by Mr. Sunil Kumar Ghadei, Program Director, Program, followed by lighting  lamp and a community song.

District Collector shri V. Kirti Vasan highlighted diversified livelihoods, climate-resilient farming, FPOs, and better access to government schemes.

Mr. Ekadashi Nandi and Mr. Sabhapati Khadanga stressed natural farming and market linkages, while farmers shared their experiences.

The Conclave context was presented by Mr. S. Bheema Rao, Executive Director, , focusing on collaboration and strong community institutions.

Two technical sessions discussed sustainable agriculture, climate change, coastal livelihoods, fisheries, and migration. The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. Saroj ku. Satpathy , Programme Manager, Mr. Kanhucharan, Mr. Gopala, Mr. Nilamadhab.and entire team members.The Conclave created a strong platform for learning, partnership, and sustainable development in Ganjam.

The sessions were chaired by Umi Daniel and Lokanath Mishra, with key inputs from experts and the District Fisheries Department.

The Conclave honored community leaders. Awards were given to Mrs. B. Gopamma,  The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Santosh Dora.
