Berhampur tragic road accident five Dead; Driver arrested, role of the owner under scanner (!).

Berhampur,(01/02/26):A major road accident was reported at Haladiapadar Fly-over bridge in Odisha’s Berhampur on Saturday, leaving five people dead after a truck collided with motorcycles on the National Highway. The incident triggered chaos at the spot, with bodies found lying scattered on the road and traffic movement coming to a standstill
Notablyoad accident on the Berhampur haladiapadar fly-over bridge identified as accident prone, marked as black spot because of its fault y construction.
Police from Gosainnuagaon reached the accident site, seized the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem. The collision caused traffic to halt completely, leading to a jam on the busy stretch. Soon after getting the information Mr.Niti Sekhar,IPS,IG.Police.,Mr,V.keerthVasan,IAS,Dist.Collector,Mr.Avinash Kumar,IAS,Officers later all line officers arrived,restored,normal movement after controlling the situation.
Eyewitnesses reported reckless driving by the truck driver, who fled immediately after the accident. Police have launched a manhunt to trace him.
Base on the Complainant from, Sisir Nahak (Age-38) S/O Chaita Nahak of village Fulta, Dhia sahi, PS Nimakhandi a case has been registered at Gosaninuagaon PS U/S 105 BNS.
On same day police established their efficiency and arrested the driver.

Police have seized;
1. 3 Motorcycles of victim in broken condition.
2. Involved Truck having registration number OD 07 Z 7259
3. Driving license of accused Pradeep @ Pradeep Jani
Ina release Berhampur police stated that, Sisir Nahak (38) S/O Chaita Nahak of village Fulta, reported that while his nephew namely Jagan Nahak (20) s/o Krushna Nahak along with Rakesh Nahak (22) s/o Chandru Nahak were returning to his village by a Hero Glamour motor cycle bearing regd No. OD 07 R 6477 at Haladiapadar over bridge one Truck bearing regd No. OD 07 Z 7259 coming at high speed dashed his nephew vehicle as a result both Jagan Nahak and Rakesh Nahak died on the spot. During investigation, He has previously caused a fatal accident which caused death of two persons in Digapahandi area and in this connection Digapahandi PS Case No 102. Dt 05.07.2017, U/s- 279/304-A IPC has been registered.
The owner of the vehicle is detained and being questioned for his role in employing a driver with criminal past.
On 31.01.2026 he was driving the truck from Haridakhandi chaka and was going to Haladiapadar Auto nagar via Andhapasara. On the way he rammed the truck on the three motorcycles and his action caused the death of 5 persons. Accused Pradeep @ Pradeep Jani was arrested today i.e on 01.02.2026 at 11.30 AM and forwarded to the court.
