Bhubaneswar,In anticipation of the Hon’ble President of India Droupadi Murmu’s six-day visit to Odisha starting February 2, 2026, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate has announced temporary traffic restrictions to ensure security and smooth vehicular flow.
The President will arrive and initially stay in Bhubaneswar, prompting measures under the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and related regulations.
The restrictions, effective on specific dates and times, prohibit vehicles from plying on designated roads or entering them from connecting lanes. Emergency vehicles like fire trucks and ambulances are exempt. The police have urged commuters to use alternate routes, plan journeys ahead, and cooperate with traffic personnel.
Commissioner of Police Dr. Suresh Dev Datta Singh, IPS, emphasized the need for public cooperation to make the visit successful while minimizing disruptions.
Residents and visitors are advised to stay updated via local media and police channels for any changes. This measure underscores the priority on VIP security amid the high-profile visit.
