Baidyanathpur Police arrested four youths; allegedly Snatch Mobile phones from Commuters. Robbed mobiles Recovered

BERHAMPUR,(23/01/2026):Baidyanathpur police on Friday arrested four person those allegedly used to steal cell phones (Mobile) from commuters and recovered.
Police said,on friday at about 2.00 PM, one Sunil Sahu (18 years), S/o Bulu Sahu, of Nimakhandi reported at Banapur Police Station. alleging that on 18.01.2026 at about 10.30 PM, while he was returning home from Engineering School Chhak on his bicycle after completion of his college picnic, in front of the main gate of MKCG MCH, Berhampur, two unknown suspects came on a motorcycle (NS 125, white colour) and snatched his mobile phone.
Based on the Complainant: Sunil Sahu (18 years), S/o Bulu Sahu, of Nimakhandi, B.N.Pur PS registered a cas on dated23/01/26 U/S 309(4) BNS , All the accused persons, identified as; Arrested Persons all are below the age group of 25 yrs. and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court today in due course of law.
1. 21 yr old male of Dhoba Sahi , Uttareswar mandira PS-G.nuagoan
2. 23 yr old male of Balaji nagar PS- PS-G.nuagoan
3. 21 yr old male of Nehuru nagar PS-G.nuagoan
4. 20 yr old male of Kadali bada Sahi PS-G.nuagoan
Police have seized four mobile phones and one Pulsar bike without regd. Number from their possession.
It is further mentioned that the noted accused persons are involved in various theft and snatching cases in different police stations of Berhampur.
While we asked for some more input about similar crime in city to a senior Police officer he said that, a section of educated youths, street Romeo allegedly used to steal cell phones (Mobile) from commuters ,market place, shopping mull vending zone MKCG Medical College and Hospital campus cell phones from gullible attendants of patients taking advantage of their un-mindfulness on various pretexts and steal .
Further investigation is going on.
