WHO Say’s People Lost their Trust on Police (!)

Berhampur,(12/01/26):Victims lose trust On police due to experiences of disbelief, victim-blaming, to officers of police stations because of lack of empathy, perceived unfairness, corruption public perception lying, misuse of power (in particular 1-2 Police stations not all PS in Berhampur city), and failure to take reports seriously or pursue leads effectively.
Berhampur Police recently arrested three burglars and recovered stolen cash, gold, and silver articles valued at over Rs. 50 lakh,(approx) Which gave success on 10thJanuary -2026 Odishabarta widely published the success of Berhampur Police.,
The recovery of the stolen property occurred on or around January 11-12, 2026, following the detection of six different burglary cases (two in Berhampur town and three in Nimakhandi police stations).
Recovered Cash , Gold jewellery and silver articles were returned to the owners by Berhampur Police. Recently 6 burglary cases were detected by Namaland police in which 8.5 lakhs cash, 180+g stolen gold and 296g of stolen silver were recovered.
All the recovered items were returned to their rightful owners at DPO by the Police team .While the victims thanked the Nimakhandi Police team for their hard work, the police team involved in the detection was appreciated by SP Berhampur.
Why they lose their property (?) for party any reason may be but their negligence is confirmed. When they reach at police satiation to report this is also true that they came to police station but not with their 100% hope that within a week time they will get their lost property and receive from the hand of Superintendent of police along with Nimakhandi Police staff shall appear with the photo frame with smiley face,
If we are correct, this is part of an ongoing effort by the Berhampur Police to return recovered stolen property to victims, with previous instances reported in August 2025 and December 2023, where significant amounts of valuables were also returned.
