Mother and son arrested for selling brown sugar
Bermhapur : After a long time, the main brown sugar trader mother and son have been arrested in a raid on a mobile phone scam. Excise Mobile Spar Brahmapur Badabazar Police Station Kailash City Adrani Shatpati and her son Saraj Shatpati have been arrested on charges of selling brown sugar. The Excise Department said that more than 50 grams of brown sugar was seized from the house of the arrested Adrani. Meanwhile, during the raid by the Excise Department at home, a fake foreign liquor factory was found running in the house. The Excise Department has informed that the entire family is involved in this fake trade. The Excise Department has come to know that the eldest son used to bring brown sugar from Khordha and give it to his mother, while the mother was selling it through various agents here. Meanwhile, the excise department on mobile phone arrested Babu Dalai and S. Narayan Patra of Bad Bazaar area near the playground of Berhampur Bad Hospital with 90 grams of brown sugar. While questioning them, it was found that Adrani was supplying him, and Excise Department Superintendent Praveen Kumar Pradhan and his team raided his house in Kailashnagar. The excise department caught Adrani and her son while trying to escape after receiving a tip-off about the raid. Later, when they searched his house, they found that foreign liquor was found inside the factory. Two motorcycles along with counterfeit foreign liquor and liquor making equipment were seized. It is reported that the arrested Adar’s house was in Ganjam block, while she rented a house here and used to sell brown sugar all over the city through another son. It is learnt that Babu Dalai (22), Narayan Patra (45), Adarani Satapathy (45) and her son Saraj Satapathy involved in this incident were arrested and produced in court on Thursday.
