Odisha Govt Directs All Departments to Shift to BSNL Network Services

Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has made it compulsory for all state departments and institutions to use Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) services for internet, broadband, landline and leased line connections. The directive, issued by the Electronics and Information Technology Department on Friday, follows guidelines from the Centre to standardise telecom usage in government offices.

According to the circular, departments must review existing service providers and migrate to BSNL wherever services are available and technically feasible, without disrupting ongoing operations. All departments have been asked to complete the transition and submit compliance reports by September 30, 2025.

The Cooperative Department has separately instructed all District and Assistant Registrars of Cooperative Societies (DRCS and ARCS) to ensure BSNL connectivity in their offices.

“This is to ensure utilisation of BSNL services for internet, broadband, landline and leased line connections. Take immediate action to migrate to BSNL wherever practical and submit compliance by September 30, 2025,” the directive stated, stressing strict adherence.
