ABSCONDING ANTISOCIAL SRIKANT ARRESTED BY BAIDYANATHPUR POLICE

Berhampur:Based on reliable information Absconding Antisocial Srikant Panda arrested by Baidhyanadpur Police.
As there is prima- facie evidence U/s. 310(4)(5) /109/61(2) BNS r/w Sec. 25 Arms Act/ Sec.4/5 E.S.Act well made out against the accused Srikanta Panda was arrested today , 25.08.2025 at 02:00 PM & forwarded to the Honble court
Case Reference: B.N. Pur PS case No. 253, Dtd.17.05.2025, U/s- 310(4)(5) BNS/R.W Sec.25 Arms Act/Sec.4/5 E.S Act.Name of Accused Person:Srikanta Panda (24), S/O- Tuna panda of Patana Sahi, Nalabanta PS-Aska, Dist.- Ganjam.
On 17.05.2025 at about 11:00 PM B.N.Pur PS patrolling team recovered 3 live bombs and 5 sharp cutting swords hidden below the over bridge near Circle Jail, Berhampur.
Bomb Disposal Squad diffused the bombs and the remnants along with the swords were seized under seizure list in the presence of witnesses. Accordingly, a case was registered and investigation was taken up.
On 21.05.2025 at about 06:00 AM, based on reliable information Mani Rao (23) of Prem Nagar was arrested. Acting on his disclosure, Police raided rented house of Nilamadhaba Sahu @ Bhabani at Kumbharpalli Bandha Huda and apprehended accused Nilamadhaba Sahu, Kalia Das @ Gaura, Dinabandhu Das @ Chota and Prabhat Das.
During interrogation, accused Nilamadhaba Sahu @ Bhabani confessed that he along with his associates Kalia Das, Dinabandhu Das, Rabi, Rakesh Mandal, Prabhat Das, Srikanta Panda and Prasanta Sethi had conspired to murder Rama Krushna Nahak of Dakhinapur (U/T in B.Sadar PS Case No.296/2024) upon his release from Berhampur Circle Jail.
For the purpose, Srikanta Panda had supplied 4 bombs and Prasanta Sethi had supplied 8 sharp swords. Accused had waited near Circle Jail, but as he didn’t come out , they hid the arms below Kamapalli Overbridge, which were detected by Police.
On further disclosure, Nilamadhaba Sahu produced 3 sharp cutting swords from his rented house, which were seized in the presence of independent witnesses Kanha Padhi and Asutosh Satapathy under seizure list.
On requisition, the Bomb Disposal Squad defused the bombs and the remnants were seized. All the above-named accused persons have been arrested and remanded, except the absconding antisocial Srikant Panda.
Accused Srikanta Panda is a habitual offender and a known antisocial activity in the locality. He has a long criminal history and is involved in several heinous offences, including multiple cases relating to bomb-making, bomb hurling, and other violent crimes. His continued criminal activities pose a serious threat to public peace and safety, and his role in supplying explosives was found during investigation.
Srikant Panda is involved in the following cases:
1. Baidyanathpur PS registered PS Case-493,Dtd. 15/11/2024, U/s 126(2)/ 115(2)/ 118(2)/ 109(1)/ 303(2)/ 3(5) BNS/ R.w Sec. 25/27 Arms Act.
2. B.N.Pur Ps Case No-22 dtd 11.01.25 U/S 310(4)/310(5) BNS R/W 4 & 5 E.S Act
3. Nimakhandi PS case No-82 dtd 15/03/23 U/S 307/332/34 IPC r/w 25/27 Arms Act r/w 3/4 E.S Act and other cases are under verification.
