In RK Ashram-Rayagada: Independence day celebration culminates with patriotic film show Manikarnika
Rayagada (Badal Tah): The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm in the Sports Complex of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, Rayagada. Siba Prasad Patnaik, Block Development Officer, Bissamcuttack, hoisted the National Flag and in his short speech, reflected on the freedom movement in its historical perspective and urged the students to realize their duties and responsibilities as enlightened citizens.
A colourful and well-disciplined march-past, showcasing the spirit of unity and discipline was appreciated by all. The addresses delivered by a student and others were rich in patriotic spirit and left a lasting impression on the audience. The celebration featured Yoga Display and Pyramid show by the students, beautifully highlighting various patriotic themes. The teachers too staged a performance that brought out the spirit of the freedom struggle and the true meaning of independence.
The programme drew to a close with the soulful rendering of the patriotic song Vande Mataram. In the evening, a film entitled MANIKARNIKA on the life of Jhansi Rani Laxmi Bai was screened.
