HOME-DELIVERY OF LIQUOR IS ONLY OPTION TO PREVENT CROWDING AT LIQUOR-SHOPS

Bureau,Odishabarta

DELHI:It is indeed unfortunate that liquor-shops were allowed to open during lockdown.3 from 04.05.2020 in India except is states where is total prohibition, not at all in public-interest but serving as a necessary evil to fund state-governments facing acute fund-shortage in lockdown and corona-spread with negligible tax-incoming but abnormally increased expenses on health and relief measures due to corona where revenue-earning from liquor-sale accounts for heavy 15-25 percent of revenue-generation of different states.

But,heavy unmanageable crowds at liquor shops requires all states to follow Supreme Court advice of 08.05.2020 for formulating a system for home-delivery of liquor. States can charge delivery-charges like has been reportedly done by a state by fixing rupees 120 for single home-delivery.

However some system should be formulated whereby all government subsidies and freebies including on ration, LPG, electricity, water etc (in states like Delhi) be abolished by registering purchase of liquor on Aadhar cards and ration-cards. Since usually only male members are heads of family, liquor on home-delivery may be sold only to males so as to avoid misuse of availing freebies and subsidies by purchasing liquor on Aadhar cards of lay-members of the family.
