Ritika Rath Secures AIR 48, Brings Glory to Odisha in UPSC CSE 2024

Bhubaneswar: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday declared the results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, with Odisha’s Ritika Rath emerging as the state topper by securing an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 48.

An alumna of SAI International School, Bhubaneswar, Ritika completed her Class X in 2017. With this remarkable feat, she is set to join the coveted Indian Administrative Service (IAS), bringing laurels to the state.

This year, the UPSC has recommended 1,009 candidates for appointment to various services, including the IAS, Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services Group ‘A’ and ‘B’.

The top five positions in the UPSC CSE 2024 have been bagged by:

  1. Shakti Dubey
  2. Harshita Goyal
  3. Dongre Archit Parag
  4. Shah Margi Chirag
  5. Aakash Garg

The selection process began with the Preliminary Examination on 16 June 2024, followed by the Mains held from 20 to 29 September 2024. The final stage, the Personality Test (Interview), was conducted between 7 January and 17 April 2025.

Renowned for its rigour and prestige, the UPSC Civil Services Examination is considered one of India’s toughest and most sought-after competitive exams, designed to identify future leaders of the nation’s administrative framework.
