Ganjam tragedy: Three members of family found dead under mysterious circumstances
Berhampur : In a heart-wrenching incident, three of a family were found dead in their house under mysterious conditions in Palibandha village in Ganjam.
The deceased were identified as S. Mami Reddy (45), her 23-year-old son S. Rakesh Reddy, and 16-year-old daughter S. Meena Reddy.
Though the exact reason behind the incident has yet to be ascertained but prima facie revealed that the trio may have consumed poison.
According to sources, the father of the family, Ravi Reddy, had passed away earlier in an accident. The son was pursuing ITI course, while her daughter was in plus 2.
The incident came to light when a neighbour visited the family’s home early in the morning and noticed the doors were still shut. After repeatedly knocking without receiving any response, the neighbour, with the help of others, forcibly entered the house. Upon opening the door, all three family members were found lying unconscious on the floor with foam around their mouths. He immediately alerted the villagers, who rushed them to MKCG Medica College and Hospital here through an emergency 108 ambulance service.
Despite the efforts of the medical staffs, all three succumbed during treatment.
The exact circumstances leading to their deaths are still under investigation. Police have begun a probe into the matter and are exploring all possible angles.
