Recruitment Process Starts For Special Security Force For Puri Jagannath Temple

Puri: The recruitment process for the personnel of the Swatantra Shree Mandir Surakshya Vahini (SSMSV) will begin today.
According to reports, this will be five phase selection process to recruit 172 officers and 1499 sepoys.
As many as 329 police personnel are to be used for the selection process. The newly constituted SSMSV is meant to provide security at the holy shrine and to facilitate disciplined darshan by the devotees.
The selection committee of this recruitment process consists of a team constituted by the state home ministry. It is headed by the Additional Police DG and includes one Inspector-General, Deputy Inspector-General, Puri SP and it will be headed by the Additional Police DG.
The selection process will continue from April 2 to April 9. The vacancies for the recruitment of SSMSV personnel was released on March 5, 2025.
The recruitment will fill the posts for one Commandant from the State Armed Cadre alongside two Deputy Commandants, one Assistant Commandant, eight Inspectors, 31 sub-inspectors and 24 Assistant Sub-inspectors.
