Odisha Govt to launch 35 Poshan Kendras soon, says Food Supply Minister

Bhubaneswar : The Odisha government, in collaboration with the World Food Organisation (WFO), is set to launch ‘Poshan Kendras’ aimed at offering essential commodities at subsidized rates across the state, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra informed on Sunday.
The initiative will begin with a pilot project that will establish at least 35 ‘Poshan Kendras’ in various locations throughout Odisha. Following the pilot phase, the government plans to set up one ration store in every Panchayat across the state.
The Poshan Kendras will provide essential items such as rice, wheat, lentils, and other staples at reduced prices to support the state’s poor and low-income groups. The cost of subsidies will be shared between the Odisha state government and the Central government, Patra added.
