NTPC Talcher Kaniha Wraps Up Successful ER-II IRSM Cricket Tournament 2024, Darlipali Wins the Championship

Talcher : NTPC Talcher Kaniha successfully concluded the ER-II, IRSM Cricket Tournament 2024, showcasing a remarkable display of sportsmanship and teamwork. The tournament, which began on March 3rd, culminated in an exciting final on March 8th, 2025. The event, held at the BR Ambedkar Stadium in NTPC Kaniha, saw NTPC Darlipali emerge victorious, winning the final match by 12 runs against NTPC Kaniha. 

The event was graced by the chief guest, Shri A.K. Sehgal, ED (NTPC Talcher Kaniha), along with other distinguished dignitaries including Shri Prabhat, RHoHR, Shri CH. Satya Rama Krishna, GM (O&M), Shri SS Rao (Maint. & ADM), Shri Navneet Kumar, AGM (HR), as well as Union and Association representatives.

The NTPC family observed a minute’s silence in memory of Shri Kumar Gav, DGM, and prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul.

Shri Sehgal expressed his gratitude to the HR department and union association for organizing the successful event, congratulating all teams for their excellent performances, especially the winning team, Darlipali, and the runner-up, Talcher Kaniha.

During the ceremony, Shri Prabhat Ram, RHoHR ( ER-II) conveyed his message on behalf of RED, ER-II, congratulating the players for their outstanding performances throughout the tournament. He particularly praised NTPC Talcher Kaniha for organizing the event and commended the environment and facilities available at the plant. 

The Darlipali team was awarded the Champion’s Trophy, while other individual awards such as Man of the Match, Man of the Series, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Best Fielder were presented to deserving players, recognizing their exceptional contributions to the tournament.

The presentation ceremony was followed by a Cultural program and grand Dinner, organised in honour of the players. ”
