Matriculation Exam Begins In Odisha; Over 5 Lakh Students Appear

Bhubaneswar: The Annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examination in Odisha began on Friday. A total of 5,12,437 students area appearing for the Class X board examinations being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.

Students are appearing for the class X board exams in 3,029 centers across 30 districts of the state. The exams are to conclude on March 6.

On the first day, students appearing for the First Language paper, which includes options such as Odia, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, or Alternative English.

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has implemented strict measures to prevent cheating and ensure no question paper leaks. For it 314 nodal centers have been established. The examination centers are being monitored through CCTV cameras with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. A four-tier squad system has been formed to prevent malpractices.

A centralized control room at the BSE headquarters is involved in real-time monitoring through live streaming. As extra precaution, each question paper has been assigned a unique serial number to trace any potential leaks. The question papers were dispatched to the exam centers on February 12 and safely reached their destinations by February 19, under tight security.

The evaluation process of the class X board exam will begin on March 19.
