Odisha Govt Hikes Remuneration Of Junior Teachers Serving Primary & UP Schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday announced a hike in the monthly remuneration of Junior Teacher (Schematics) serving the primary and upper primary schools of the state under the Samagra Sikshya.

The monthly remuneration of these teachers was enhanced from Rs 11,100 to Rs 16,000. In addition to the salary hike, the state’s contribution to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) for teachers has also increased and it will now contribute Rs 1,950 to each teacher’s EPF account, up from the previous Rs 1,443.

The revised rate of remuneration will take effect from the date of issue of the resolution in this regard, that is from Thursday.

Because of this salary hike, the state exchequer will incur an additional expenditure of Rs 89.15 crore to pay up around 13,740 Junior Teachers (Schematic) employed in the state.
