After Tara Tarini, Miscreants Loot Valuables from Nirmalajhara Temple in Ganjam Dist
Berhampur: Thieves have targeted another temple in the Ganjam district following the theft at the famous Tara Tarini shrine. This time the theft occurred at the ancient temple in scenic Nirmalajhara.
The miscreants broke the temple gate to take away the cash and other valuables in the hundi of the temple. They also escaped with some utensils of the Nirmaljhara temple.
According to reports, the thieves jumped over the boundary wall to enter the Nirmaljhara temple. They broke the lock of the temple gate and stole the hundi and some brass utensils.
This theft was discovered by the temple priest on Friday morning, when he arrived to open the temple for the devotees. Finding the lock at the gate broken, he informed the police about the theft.
A team from the Khallikote police station has reached the temple for investigation.
