BERHAMPUR: Lockdown days have been tough for people across the states in terms of movement, food and grocery. The days have been tougher for those looking for their daily stock of liquor, Desi Daru etc… How do they manage (?).
On Monday, under direction of Sub Collector, Berhampur a team of Executive Magistrate cum Tehsildar Digapahandi along with SDPO Chikiti and IIC Digapahandi have seized 10800 liters of I.D and 1270 packets of OS in Nimakhandi in Ganjam. The team broke the Mafia chain and arrested 3 persons.
“Trade Vrs. raid” in Ganjam It’s very common and not new. Because the reason which is best known to Excise authority from day one during Covid19 lockdown. The Mafias operate in broad daylight business under the nose of Excise department.
Many intellectuals even “Aam Admi” shouts “Why the Excise officials are remains silent”(?).Why not the Excise Officials discharging their assignment and solely depends on Police Administration and Revenue Department (?).Rather they divert the prime attention of Revenue and Police department.
What the Excise authority of Ganjam have delegated their power to Revenue Officers and Police Officers (?).
Notably sources said, the business camped at many places in entire Ganajm according to source during the pandemic situation and lockdown announcement.
Tightened security by Police may have made liquor smuggling difficult, but the availability is coming at a premium in several places.
Villagers alleged their family life may be affected if the liquor for illegally selling and to encourage booze to the villagers amid the ongoing lockdown due to the Corona virus pandemic.
Probably the excise people of Ganjam might have forgotten the formula of 5T concept which is adopted by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Mr Naveen Patnaik (?).
Let’s choose only one “1-T” and common public knew this very well and believe it i.e. “TRANSPERENCY”.
