Cyclone Dana: Flight Operations Cancelled at Bhubaneswar, Kolkata Airports for 16 and 15 Hrs Respectively

Bhubaneswar: All flights to and from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar have been suspended for 16 hours from 5.00 pm on October 24 till 9.00 am on October 25 as precautionary measure for the impending Cyclone Dana.

According to the BPIA authorities, around 40 flights will be suspended during this period. Decision regarding resumption of flights will be taken after assessing the post-cyclone situation. Similarly, the flight operations at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata will also remain suspended from 6 pm on Thursday to 9 am Friday.

Cyclone Dana is expected to have its landfall between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra port on October 24 night or October 25 morning.Nearly 200 trains running through Odisha and West Bengal hav been cancelled because of cyclone Dana
