State-Level Independence Day Celebrations At MG Marg, 40 Contingents To Take Part In Parade
Bhubaneswar: The state-level Independence Day celebration will be held at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar, announced Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday.
A decision regarding the 78th Independence Day celebration in the state was taken by the Chief Minister at a meeting of the Home Department and I&PR department today evening.
CM Majhi will hoist the national flag at 9 am on August 15 and address the gathering, followed by the salute of the combined parade. The parade will feature 40 contingents from schools, colleges, police forces, and other organizations.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Majhi directed the allocation of additional funds for the celebration of Independence Day at the district level.
Emphasizing the significance of the day, Majhi stated that Independence Day is a national festival and a day of joy and celebration for the entire nation, and hence it should be celebrated grandly.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of I &PR Department Sanjay Singh, Special Secretary to Home Department Santosh Bala and Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda.
