BSKY To Continue Till Implementation Of GJAY In Phases: Odisha Health Minister
Bhubaneswar : Dispelling the uncertainty surrounding the future of the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), a flagship health scheme launched by the previous BJD government, Odisha’s Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Saturday stated the health scheme will continue for now.
The beneficiaries will continue to reap benefits at all government and private hospitals under BSKY. Currently, 96.50 lakh families below the poverty line and above the poverty line are beneficiaries of BSKY. The government is ensuring people receive cashless medical services. The Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) is set to be rolled out in phases, the Minister announced.
“The BSKY is operational. Concurrently, beneficiaries will be issued the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana card. Our interim budget for two months was approved on July 30. Following this, our Appropriation Bill is slated for passage on September 10. After this, implementation of the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will commence in a phased manner,” he elaborated.
