7th Annual function of GTV Bharat Odia held at Rayagada
Rayagada (Badal Tah) : 7th Annual Function of GTV Bharat Odia, a prominent local Odia Digital News Channel, was held at Lions Club under the chairmanship of Ramdas Lima, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the channel. Former DCC President and presently officiating State general Secretary Durga Prasad Panda formally inaugurated the event. On this occasion Saptagiri Shankar Ullaka, Member of Parliament, Koraput Lok Sabha attended as the chief guest and spoke about the importance of social & digital media and wished GTV India’s excellence in projecting pro-people issues and their probable solutions. Appalaswami Kadraka, MLA Rayagada joined as guest of honour and demanded that the government should provide minimum facilities to the fourth pillar of democracy. Senior Journalist Badal Kumar Tah joined as guest of honor and shed light on the plight of journalists and pertinent issues of the district, while the keynote speaker Abinash Mishra told about the digital age by saying that advent of digital media had affected the demand for print media and electronic media. It takes 12 to 24 hours to publish a news item in print media and 2 to 4 hours for electronic media. But spot & live news then & there is being spread through digital media, social media with immediate effect. Electronic media frantically chase after TRPs. Views in digital and social media, sometimes, leads to misleading situation as the news gets exaggerated, he said.

Journalists namely Gouri Shankar Patnaik, Guru Prasad Sahu, Shiv Prasad Padhi, Ranjan Kumar Mohanty were also felicitated by the coveted guests for their strong initiative, determination and cooperation in making the GTV India Odia a successful endeavour. Many working Journalists working in district headquarters, journalists working in different corners of the district, lawyers, volunteers, educationists, senior citizens and intellectuals attended the event.
