3-Member Panel to Probe falling of Lord Balabhadra on Servitors during Adapa Mandap Pahandi
Puri: A three-member panel has been formed to probe the falling of Lord Balabhadra idol on some servitors during the pahandi to take the idols to Gundicha temple.
The three-member panel includes an additional district magistrate (ADM), SJTA administrator (development), and a DSP rank police officer. This committee will investigate and submit its report within 10 days after completion of ‘Niladri Bije’.
The committee will examine the available video footage to ascertain the reason behind the incident.
A dozen servitors of the Puri Jagannath temple were injured on Tuesday when the idol of Lord Balabhadra fell on them during the Pahandi. The incident happened after 9 pm when the idol of Lord Balabhadra was being brought down from Taladhwaja chariot to be taken to the Gundicha temple.
