Training Program Organised by KVK, Malda to Empower SC Farmers with Enhanced Agricultural Technology under PRAYAS Initiative

Patna, (Dhanbad) : A training program organized by ICAR-RCER, Patna in collaboration with ICAR-NIBSM, Patna, and hosted by ICAR-CISH, KVK (Malda II), aimed at improving the livelihoods of SC farmers through the adoption of Enhanced Agricultural Technology (as part of PRAYAS initiative). Dr. D.K. Raghav, Head, KVK, Malda provided insights to women farmers on the significance and objectives of the training. Subsequently, Dr. Anup Das, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of Integrated Farming Systems for consistent year-round vegetable production and steady income. Dr. Das also highlighted the potential of mushroom cultivation and discussed soil health and integrated nutrient management. During the program, women farmers expressed concerns regarding challenges such as insufficient training in poultry and goat rearing as well as water scarcity issues in their areas. The respective authorities then offered potential solutions to address these problems.
