NTPC Raising Day celebrations at Kaniha

Talcher:The 49th Raising Day of NTPC was celebrated in a befitting manner at NTPC Kaniha. Shri N. Srinivasa Rao, Executive Director, NTPC Kaniha hoisted the NTPC Flag at Administrative Building premises and addressed  the assembled employees. Shri Ashok Kumar Sehgal, GM(O&M), Shri Satya Rama Krishna, GM(ADM), Shri Jeetendra Prasad Roy,GM (Proj) , Shri A. J. Rajkumar, GM(Maintenance), Shri Brij Kishore Pandey , AGM(HR), Shri Brij Mohan Singh, DC(CISF),Heads of Departments ,representatives of Unions and Association were present on the occasion.

In his address, Shri Rao traced the success story of the company and  recalled with pride, the noteworthy contribution made by  employees of NTPC Kaniha, in making the company a great organisation. He called upon the employees to discharge their duties with honesty and devotion so that NTPC could scale new heights and  achieve new milestones.

Started on this day in 1975 from ground zero with zero megawatt has today emerged as a diverse and vibrant energy conglomerate to an installed capacity of 73874 MW with diversified portfolio of thermal, hydro, solar, wind etc.

NTPC Group generated 248 billion Units till Oct FY24 as compared to 232 billion Units till Oct FY23, registering a 7% growth YoY basis meeting country’s 25% energy requirement.

In Mining front, NTPC has achieved a remarkable 86% increase in coal production of 19 MMT till 31st Oct in FY24 as compared to the same period in FY23. Coal despatch also surged by 94%, ensuring efficient supply to meet the Nation’s energy requirements.

The success story of our company is well reflected in the 433rd position in Forbes Global Ranking. NTPC happens to be the only PSU to make it to the list. Congratulations. This feat has been possible by the concerted efforts by all Ntpcians under the able leadership of our Chairman Saab.

NTPC Kaniha has achieved another milestone in the operation of 500 MW units among all NTPC stations by   continuously running units IV for 464 days and unit III for 329 days. Station generation has reached 13.2 BUs till date contributing to generation of NTPC Group of 250 BU.

Earlier, in the morning employees, members of their families, school children and CISF personnel took part in a Power Walk  organised to commemorate the NTPC Raising Day led by Shri N. S. Rao, the Walkathon started from DAV School and concluded at RC in the Township.
