State Level Workshop on Child Rights

Bhubaneswar/Berhampur: People’s Rural Education Movement(PREM) in collaboration with Odisha Adivasi Manch(OAM) & Educo,an International Agency of Spain organised a State Level Conference at Hotel Pushpak,Bhubaneswar  to initiate a forum for legislators of our State Assembly to take up the issues pertaining to children of our State, especially children from venerable communities like tribals.The main focus area are to reduce the dropout & to create child marriage free villages & panchayats.No child should go for labour & also become migrant.There will be a focus on girl children for their education, health and wellbeing. The legislators from different constituencies also attended the conference especially Mr Amar Satapathy,MLA,Badachana,Mr Dasarathi Gamango,MLA,Mohana,Mrs Padmini Dwain,MLA,Kotpat,Mrs Latika Pradhan,MLA,Kabisurya Nagar ,Mr Mahidhar Rana,MLA,Kantamal,Mr Tata Prasad Bahinipati,MLA,Jeypore,Mr Makaranada Muduli from Rayagada and Mr Suluka Pradhan ,MLA,G Udaygiri attended this programme on behalf of Odisha Legislative Assembly and expressed their view  to support this noble campaign and assured to raise questions in the assembly  regarding the rights of the children.

  Mr Guru Praasd Rao,Country Director,Educo,an International Agency of Spain presented the situation of children in national and state level.Mr Sukanta Behera,Program Specialist,Educo also presented the statistics of the questions and also placed in the conference for last three years.Dr Jacob Thyndyil,President,PREM presented the purpose & the objectives of the said conference.Ms Bidulta Huila,Convernor of OAM welcomed the participants on behalf of the OAM and Mr Ratan Kumar Mishra ,PRO,PREM delivered the vote of thanks to the participants.
