STF ARRESTS FAKE VIGILANCE OFFICER IN CHARGE OF FOR CHEATING/ FORGERY/ EXTORTION

Bhubaneswar:STF PS Case No. 09 dated 05.05.2023 U/s. 419/420/384/387/506/120(B)/34 IPC for CHEATING/ FORGERY/ EXTORTION IMPERSONATING AS A VIGILANCE OFFICER from various people.During investigation, it was ascertained that accusedManoj Kumar Majhi S/o. Debendra Majhi of Phulbari PO: Titipa PS. Krushna Prasad Dist. Puri , who impersonated himself as SP, Vigilance and demanded Rs. 01 Crore from the complt ( An Addl Chief engineer) as well as other persons.
Accordingly raid was conducted in his village i.e. Phulbari PO: Titipa PS. Krushnaprasad Dist. Purion 6.5.2023 and was apprehended. During interrogation the accused admitted that he was trying to extort money from various governmnet officials as well as some contractors impersonating himself as a senior vigilance officer.
It is also ascertained that the accused had cheated some persons promising to arrange Govt Job too. The investigation, so far, reveals that the accused is a highly qualified person having qualification of MSc in Chemistry & PhD Degree from Sambalpur University and has tried to cheat/ extort at least following persons.

The accused was arrested and will be forwarded to the Court of SDJM, Bhubaneswar today i.e. 7.5.2023 . Investigation is going on.,All are requested to not to fall in the trap of such impersonators/ Conmen.
