RSP (SAIL) in making of people self reliant by giving training to people live in Peripheral villages

ROURKELA: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) one of the finest PSUs has been doing many activities relentlessly in Peripheral areas of Rourkela. In the process, RSP management had undertaken Bamboo craft as training where as more than 30 women artisans of Purnapani and Bhalulata nearby villages of Rourkela were trained Bamboo Craft for 45 days. The first phase of seven days was conducted at the Institute of Periphery Development of RSP and the rest of the training was imparted at Purnapani Gram Panchayat building, Nuagaon Block. The training was conducted in collaboration with Society for Rural Industrialization, Ranchi. All the trainees were trained on how to make Pen Stand, Flower Vase, Ash Tray, Wall Hanger, Letter Box, Designed Soop, Tokri, Dustbin, Fruit Basket Frame, Stool, Table, Salt Holder, Ship, Birds and many other household and decorative things. In the valedictory function which was held at Institute for Peripheral Development, Mr. Dilip Kumar Bhanja, CGM (Power Distribution) was the Chief Guest and handed over the certificates and tool kits to the trainees on successful completion of the training. Others who present in the occasion were Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM (CSR), Mr. T B Toppo, AGM (CSR), Mrs. Upasana Dung Dung, Handicraft Promotion Officer (Sundergarh), Ms. Rini Sinha, Women’s Section (SRI, Ranchi and other official of concerned organizations.
