Death of drowned minor in Kolab water reserver (Jalbhandar).

Koraput:After the completion of 10th examination, a minor drowned in the Kolab reservoir with his friends. Jena’s son Gautam Jena (14) s/o Mr. Kuna Jena( Buisness man),was studying in 10th standard at D Mount Valley School in Semiliguda.
As the 10th board exams were over yesterday, Gautam along with two of his friends went on a bike to take a dip in the Kolab Reservoir near Sunabeda Chikapar village. While standing, Gautam first went down to the river, but his feet slipped and drowned in the river as it was empty and muddy.
Seeing that the other two friends screamed in fear, the villagers of Chikapar reached there and tried to find Gautam, but due to heavy rains for the last two days, the river flooded. Unable to go inside due to swelling, he informed the fire brigade at Semiliguda.
Due to a mechanical fault in the rescue boat, the rescue operation was delayed. Finally, after 3 hours of tireless effort, after 6 pm, with the help of local fishermen, Gautam was rescued from the pond, but he was already dead. It is known that Koraput has been sent for severance, after this news spread, there was a wave of mourning in the entire Semiliguda area.Later shifted to koraput medical for post-mortem followed with last rituals.
