Bhubaneswar:On the basis of reliable information, a team of STF conducted raid with the help of Forest Officials of Boudh Forest Division on 18.03.2023 evening on the public road connecting from Chhatranga to Harabhanga under Harabhanga PS jurisdiction Dist. Boudh regarding dealing/possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals, as a result of one wildlife criminal namely Girish Kumar Sahoo S/o. Subash Chandra Sahoo of village Harabhanga PS. Harabhanga Dist. Boudh was apprehended.
During search three numbers of wildlife skin i.e. One Leopard Skin, 02 Nos Deer Skin and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession. The accused person could not produce any authority in support of possession of such Leopard Skin & Deer Skins, for which he has been apprehended. In this connection STF PS Case No.05 dated 19.03.2023 U/s 379/411/120(B) IPC r/w. Sec.51 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 is being registered and will be forwarded to the Court of JMFC, Harabhanga, Charichhak, Boudh. The skins will be send to Director WII, Derhadun for biological examination. Investigation is going on.
