Mistakes in Odisha Matric Exam question confuse students (!).

Bhubaneswar/Gajapati: Mistakes in the Social Science question paper of the matric examination conducted by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) left the students confused and worried on Saturday.
Sources said the goof-up came to light after the examinees at some centres pointed out the mistakes in the question paper. Several questions from Set A question paper were stated to be in Set B.
The students further stated that Question Number 19 was missing from the Objective Question Paper, for which they were able to answer 49 questions on the OMR sheet. Worried over the errors, the students have urged the board authorities not to deduct their marks and do the needful for fair evaluation of papers.
On the other hand, the board authorities said that the students need not worry as it was a printing error and steps will be taken for a fair assessment.
Stating that the board is aware of the matter, BSE president Ramashish Hazra reportedly said that it is a printing mistake and the board will take necessary measures in this regard and the students should not be worried.
The authorities of examination centres have been asked to provide a list of students who faced the issue. The programme for the evaluation of OMR sheets will be changed accordingly.
There is no need of conducting the examination again, he said. The Board will work out a formula and the entire evaluation will be done accordingly.
According to report from Gajapati the 10th HSC Board examination candidates felt disgusted with questions they faced. In History & Geography papers related questions wrongly printed while asked to candidates appeared examinations they said no 19 question missed question & 20 sets got ‘A’. Later while assessing they found ‘B’ set & while going details they found ‘A’ set. Number 19 question missed so who will be responsible they retorted. They must get that missing question number mark. Confusion on ‘A’ & ‘B’ sets & inside number 6 question replaced as number 12.Such gross mistakes stood question on future of those candidates who are appearing examinations.
