RK Mission renders yeomen service at Rayagada

Rayagada, December 19: A synopsis of the AGM held recently states that during financial year 2021-22 Rama Krishna Mission has utilised around Rs.943.18 crores  in their 216 branch centres & sub-centres in India towards philanthropic activities like relief & rehabilitation, welfare, medical, educational, rural development and publication of literature. Through its 97 affiliates and sub-affiliates situated in 24 countries outside India, the Mission is engaged in preaching philosophy of Vedanta and rendering multifarious service activities.

In the context of education it has been successful in establishing centres of excellence in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Tripura. Several awards, recognitions and accolades from reputed Govt institutions like National Assessment & Accreditation Council(NAAC), National Institutional Ranking Framework(NIRF), Niti Ayog have come to them for their silent but astounding & sturdy work.

Similarly the educational institute set up by the Mission in a non-descript tribal village called Hata-muniguda in Rayagada district in a serene and sublime atmosphere has shown the way. With the commitment of monks, teaching & other supporting staff members of the mission, the tribal pupils of this school have exhibited their multi talented skills with educational achievement par excellence.

Recently, the Infosys Foundation Scholarship 2022-23 amounting to Rs. 15.00 lakh (Rupees fifteen lakhs) was distributed among 100 deserving students of the school (Standard IX to XII) in a programme organised in the Vivekananda Hall.

After Vedic invocations by the students, Swami Gitatmananda Maharaj, Secretary welcomed the guests and spoke about the purpose of the scholarship. He also appreciated the kind gesture of Infosys Foundation and the Headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission for introduction of this scholarship in the school.

Ms Swadha Dev Singh, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Rayagada attended the programme as the Chief Guest and distributed the scholarship amount. She also addressed the students and the teachers on this occasion through motivational stories. She advised the students to make proper use of the opportunity they were getting and build up their future as responsible citizens and thereby contribute their might for the development of our great Motherland.

Swami Prabhuvarananda proposed vote of thanks. The programme ended with a closing patriotic and spiritual song by the students.
