117th meeting of East Coast Railway Users’ Consultative Committee held at Visakhapatnam

Sunabeda : 25/11/22: The 117th meeting of East Coast Division Rail Users Consultative Committee has been held under the chairmanship of DRM Anoop Kumar Satpathy at the conference hall of DRM, Visakhapatnam. Treasurer of Koraput Vikas Parisad and member of East Coast DRUCC Shaik Ibrahim attended the meeting and put forth various genuine demands of Koraput region including introduction of new trains from Jagdalpur to Puri , Baleswar and New Delhi. Restoration of Durg -Jagdalpur Express and its extension up to Nagpur . He also demanded up gradation of Koraput, Jeypore, Damanjodi and Dumiriput railway stations, security of parking in railway station premises, opening of railway ticket booking counter in Jaipur city etc. Divisional Railways authority stated that the work for provision of two lifts at Koraput station is already sectioned. The parking contract has been awarded through e-auction and now secure parking facility is available at Koraput railway station. Jeypore is being developed on the lines of Khurda Road model under soft up gradation of stations for which contract is fixed and works will commence shortly. Introduction of new trains will explore after doubling of new line in between Koraput – Rayagada section.. Mr Ibrahim thanked the Railway authority for adding Vistadom coaches to Visakhapatnam – Koraput and Kirundal – Visakhapatnam Express trains. The program was coordinated by Senior Commercial Manager Akhilesh Tripathi.
