TALCHER FERTILIZERS LTD BE IMPOSED PENALTY DUE TO NON PAYMENT OF LAND REVENUE

Talcher Fertilizers Ltd (TFL) earlier known as Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd (FCIL) has stopped production since March 1999. Presently Talcher Fertilizers Ltd is a joint venture of GAIL India Ltd, Coal India Ltd, Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizer Ltd and Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd. Revival operation of this unit is going on with an budget of Rs 8000 crore from the promoters. It is expected to commence from September 2023. Talcher Fertilizers Ltd once again came to lime light for non payment of land revenue since a long period. Talcher based RTI Activist Debaprasad Sahoo has revealed this matter after collecting information under RTI Act. According to this information, there are total 24 numbers of khatiyan in the name of Talcher Fertilizers Ltd. Out of this 24 khayian, 18 khatiyan under jurisdiction of Talcher Tehsil and 6 khatiyan under Banarapal Tehsil. It is said that Rs 16,21,167 towards land revenue pending for 19 khatiyan since a long period. Information about rest 5 khatiyan is not available on revenue website due to concerned RIs not uploaded the data. After obtaining the information Shri Sahoo on 1st November 2022 has filed a written complaint before SDM & Sub Collector Talcher. After receiving the complaint from RTI Activist, I have initiated action for further proceedings against Talcher Fertilizers Ltd said SDM Shri Biswaranjan Rath. If needed penalty will also be imposed in this case following strict action against Talcher Fertilizers Ltd, he added. At the same time Shri Sahoo also approached CMO Odisha and Secretary Revenue dept on the same day. After receiving this complaint CMO forwarded it to Siddharth Shankar Swain Collector Angul, as well as Revenue Secretary forwarded it to Tehsildar Talcher for further action at their end.
